TIRUPATI: Two of the accused in the murder case of 8-year-old Guru Srinu were convicted on Wednesday and sentenced to life imprisonment.Giving the verdict, VI additional district session judge court (Fast Track Court) judge Lakshmi Kameshwari convicted the accused G Yugandhar and P Kishore and dismissed the case against another accused P Mohan Reddy, for lack of evidence.Even as the two accused Yugandhar and Kishore pleaded not guilty, the judge said there were many witnesses against them.Stating the case as a rare one, she pronounced the punishment on three counts-- Life sentence and fine of Rs 2,000 each for the two accused for murder under Sec 302; seven years imprisonment for kidnapping with fine of Rs 1000; seven years for attempting to erase the evidence in the case.Speaking to mediapersons, additional public prosecutor Ramana Reddy said they have sought capital punishment for the accused.In all, 32 witnesses were produced before the court during the trial which commenced on February 1 and concluded on February 17.
