BANGALORE: BASE Batteries, a state-based battery manufacturer will soon embark on a mission to bring light to 10 villages in the State. In the coming two or three months, BASE will launch an initiative across the country to energise one school building in 100 villages and provide the students with a 24- hour backup for their school.“We are in the process of shortlisting villages. It is a detailed process as we have to speak to the village heads, identify the correct building and set up the electrical fittings,” said Aditya Arora, Chief Operating Officer of BASE Batteries while speaking to Express. “It is a nationwide initiative, but we will be launching it from Karnataka as it is our home state,” he added. BASE is already implementing other initiatives like free check-ups, topping up and recharging of batteries across its network of 7,000 dealers and also offering free service camps in major cities of the state.
