Cancel all tenders, says Shankar Rao

HYDERABAD: Handloom and textiles minister P Shankar Rao has demanded that the government cancel the Polavaram tenders.Speaking to reporters at the Congress Legislature party office here on Friday, he said the government had selected a company which was not eligible to participate in tenders and saw the hand of some influential persons including Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao's associates behind the decision.Tender bids were opened in suspicious circumstances, enough indication of a conspiracy, he said and felt the government finalised the tender under political pressure.
