Lausanne: The Court of Arbitration for Sport is aiming to give a verdict in Serbian tennis player Viktor Troicki's doping rules case "in around four months."
CAS says Troicki has not asked for his 18-month ban to be frozen during the procedure, which could have cleared him to continue playing in events such as the US Open.
The International Tennis Federation suspended Troicki last month for breaking anti-doping rules. He failed to provide a blood test after losing at the Monte Carlo Masters in April, citing illness.
Troicki blamed an on-site doping control officer who he claims gave him misleading advice. An ITF tribunal declined to apply the standard two-year ban after accepting Troicki was stressed by illness and his fear of needles. CAS did not set an appeal hearing date.
