BANGALORE: Bangalore girls have definitely made the city proud as they have successfully completed the most hazardous and tough terrain of himalayan landscape over 600 kms starting from 6,260 feet to the world’s highest motorable road Khardung La Pass at 18,380 feet. The group of girls comprised of Sharada Sunil, Shuchitra Bihani, Revathi MP, Vinutha V Malenahalli, Aditi Rai, Aparna Iyengar, Deepika R Sharma, Megha DS and Sowmya Urs from Mysore.With the objective of motivating women in adventure sports, YHAI ( Youth Hostels Association of India) organised a new high adventure programme-National Mountain Biking Expedition, solely for the feminine folk. Admidst the 111 girls chosen for the expedition from various parts of the country by YHAI, only 86 managed to finish line spanning from August 16 to September 3. The girls surmounted the rough terrain and weather conditions successfully clearing 5 major himalayan peak viz Rohtang Pass (13,051 ft), Bara Lacha Pass (16,050 ft), Lachung La Pass(16,600 ft) and Tanglang La Pass (17,469 ft) and finally made it to worlds highest motorable road Khardung La Pass.
