BALASORE: A constable aspirant of Balasore allegedly committed suicide after failing to clear the written examination held in Koraput last month. He ended his life by consuming pesticide on Thursday night.Police sources said Sanatan Parida of Barhapur village under Soro police limits had appeared for the physical test at Koraput reserve police ground on November 7. He was then selected for the written examination.According to his father Mahendra Parida, Sanatan had failed to clear the test by one mark. The result was declared on Wednesday."He broke down and refused to take food. The next day, we found him under the NH-5 overbridge. He was rushed to Soro hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead,” he said.Sanatan was the sole breadwinner of the family. The villagers have demanded financial assistance for the bereaved family.
