TIRUCHY: Shock and surprise prevailed at Marungapuri area near here as a man who was believed to be dead came to life and started to speak to the relatives who came to attend his last rites, on Sunday. It is said, Alagarsamy (48), a coconut vendor of Pethakonpatti, was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. On Saturday, as his condition deteriorated, doctors told his relatives to take him home.Alagarsamy was taken home in an ambulance. When they reached home, Alagarsamy was found inert. Thinking that Alagarsamy has died, his relatives took ‘the body’ and kept him in a sitting posture .Early morning on Sunday, relatives were arranging for Alagarsamy’s funeral. Drummers started beating the drum. While, the relatives were brisk with the funeral arrangements, Jothi, wife of Alagarsamy and daughter Maheswari realised that Alagarsamy’s body had movement. Surprised by this, Jothi alarmed the relatives who found that Alagarsamy was still alive. Within a few seconds, Alagarsamy started speaking to his wife and relatives. The drummers were sent back, the arrangements were stopped. Subsequently, Alagarsamy was rushed to a hospital.
