THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite the objection of the school management, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor, has secured a favourable District Court order for conducting the annual general body at the Subramaniom Auditorium on the school premises at 10 am on Saturday. The vacation court of the District Court has stayed the decision of the management to dissolve the school PTA. The court has allowed the PTA to go ahead with all the regular activities and meetings of the association as  per its bylaw. The court, through an interim order, has also restrained the management from interfering in the functioning of the PTA or causing any obstacle to the conduct of its activities.PTA president K Mohankumar told Express that what provoked the management was the demand raised by the PTA to provide better infrastructure and improve the academic quality of the school. The demand was in the backdrop of the fall in the standards of the school during the past many years, he said. The school lacked facilities like language lab and mathematics lab. These facilities have become essential infrastructure in most CBSE schools in  the city, he said. The decision to dissolve the PTA was taken following a petition submitted by the association to the CBSE headquarters, New Delhi. The management withdrew the teacher representative from the PTA as a first step. Later, it took back the key of the room allotted to the PTA. Finally, it dissolved the PTA, he said.
