CHITRADURGA: Fake employment letters under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) are flying across the country.
It has come to the notice of none other than the ministry of rural development, that fake offer letters are being circulated, which were purportedly issued by Project Director Indu Sharma, carrying the national emblem and that of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, of the ministry of rural development. In the circular issued by the department, Indu Sharma has not only denied the letter but has also said, "Ministry of rural development, Government of India, has nothing to do with the offer letter offering the position as an organiser, at the starting salary and daily allowance stated therein on contract basis for a period of four years."

Sharma also has said in her letter that the recipients of the letter are being demanded of `20,000 for such offer letters and has made them believe that the letters are from the ministry of rural development. Indu also said, this is a clear case of misrepresentation, fraud and cheating which are punishable under IPC.
