KOZHIKODE: It is a bare fact that there is no replacement for Jagathy Sreekumar in Mollywood. However, for filmmakers, finding a somewhat-apt replacement for the veteran comedian is the inevitability of the hour! With Sreekumar undergoing treatment following a serious road accident exactly one month ago and his return to film world remaining a distant dream, filmmakers are running from pillar to post to cast other actors to complete the projects the veteran comedian has committed.  The condition of the actor, who is undergoing treatment at the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences hospital (MIMS) here, is reported to be stable and he would be shifted to Christian Medical College, Vellore on Tuesday.“We are all praying for Jagathy for a speedy recovery. Jagathy is a  expressive actor and it is tough to find an actor to replace his role but we can’t wait for long as the uncertainty on his recovery is continuing. As you know, cinema is a business which needs  crores of rupees investment and we were compelled to find other option,” said a production controller with a movie, which the actor was a part of. “Grand Master’ and ‘Thiruvambady Thampan’ are the new movies of the 61-year old actor to hit the theatres.Thiruvambady Thampan, a family entertainer directed by M Padmakumar is ready for release on April 19. “A few scenes including a song scene deputed to Jagathy was dropped,” said M Padmakumar. Jagathy was seriously injured after the car he was travelling rammed onto a median at Panambra near Tenhipalam in Malappuram district. He was on a trip to join the crew of Idavapathy, a film directed by Lenin Rajendran in Coorg, Karnataka on March 10. Lenin Rajendran, is now in Nepal for the  shoot, and the sources with the production controll team said that renowned South-Indian actor Nazar replaced Jagathy. The first phase of the shooting was completed. Sources with the film industry said that he was dropped from a handful of projects.  In Cow Boy, a film by debutant director Balachandra Kumar, Jagathy had attended the shooting for a day. However, the production team was forced to exclude the actor considering his condition.
