BHUBANESWAR: A day after the firing incident in VSS Nagar market, police raided several places in the City and outside in the hunt for the two miscreants.Although police remained tightlipped, it was very close to identifying the one who had opened fire at the three youths on Wednesday evening. His role in a past murder case in the City is also not ruled out.Police sources said the whole incident was a fallout of a previous enmity. The miscreant had, about a week back, bashed up the brother-in-law of Baishnab Swain, one of the three youths involved in the incident.The miscreant was nursing a grudge against Swain’s brother-in-law after being nabbed in a snatching incident. Last Friday, when he found him alone, he had roughed him up.Although the police have stitched up the incident, they have not been able to locate the miscreant yet. Police teams were busy raiding Puri and Nayagarh districts but in vain.While police have come to know that the accused was a resident of Surya Nagar area, it is investigating into his possible role in a murder case that had occurred in the City last year.
