New Delhi: Force India enjoyed one of their best Formula One season as they claimed sixth position in the constructors' championship with 69 points, 15 more than seventh-placed Sauber. In the final Formula One race this season, Adrian Sutil finished sixth and Paul di Resta eighth to earn 12 points for the team in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Meanwhile Force India's driver Sutil matched his best finish of the season and finished ninth in the drivers' competition with 42 points, bettering his 11th position last season. However, Sutil earned 68 points in the 2010 season. Di Resta, in his debut season, finished 13th in the drivers' standings with 27 points.

Earlier this month, Team Principal, Dr Vijay Mallya has already stated that he is very happy with what his team has achieved this season. Force India's fourth season is their best and team will be hoping to improve in the next season and compete for the top three spot.

This has been the most complete season for the Indian-based Formula One side. The car has been strong in all areas and has given some of the bigger teams a run for their money. Force India and their owners will surely be proud of what they have achieved, which is a testament to the dedication and commitment of all the team members.

Securing sixth in this championship will be a key milestone in the history of this team because the competitiveness in the Formula One has grown massively this time around.

In the upcoming days, Force India fans will be anxiously awaiting the announcement of the drivers for the 2012 season. Vijay Mallya seems set to wait until the team's Christmas party before announcing the driver line-up for next year. It is understood Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg, who has been the reserve driver this season, have already been signed for next year. But, there is a delay over confirming the team due to Sutil's likely exit, the German expected to sign with Williams to partner Pastor Maldonado.

But whatever the case will be in the future, Force India have really enjoyed their best season in the Formula One.
