Celebrated annually on June 5, World Environment Day is observed to promote more sustainable practices while advocating the protection of our planet. With a constant increase in microplastics, polluted air and harmful radiation, it has now become essential to reflect on the importance of environmental conservation.
This year, the theme for the day is ‘Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience’ under the slogan ‘Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.’ The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 World Environment Day global celebrations.

World Environment Day 2024: Quotes
1- “To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment.” – Jane Austen
2- “We shall never understand the natural environment until we see it as a living organism. Today you can murder land for private profit. You can leave the corpse for all to see and nobody calls the cops” – Paul Brooks
3- “The poetry of the earth is never dead.” – John Keats
4- “There must be a reason why some people can afford to live well. They must have worked for it. I only feel angry when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things we could use” – Mother Teresa
5- “If we surrendered to earth’s intelligence, we could rise up rooted, like trees.” – Rainer Maria Rilke
‘By Reducing Paper Usage, Businesses Can Contribute In Reducing Deforestation’
“Crores of paper are used everyday for paperwork by Indian businesses for which a lot of trees are being cut on a daily basis. By reducing paper usage, businesses can contribute in reducing deforestation. We’ve done some calculations with our clients – businesses have saved over 32,000 trees by executing documents digitally through Leegality,” Shivam Singla, Founder and CEO of Leegality, said.
“Beyond trees – physical paperwork processes have a huge carbon footprint. Electricity wastage due to printing, fuel consumption due to transportation of paper and increased land usage due to storage of paper. So going paperless doesn’t just save trees – it also leads to cleaner, more environmentally friendly business processes,” he added.
