After 'Elizabeth' and 'The Golden Age', filmmaker Shekhar Kapur will direct 'Elizabeth III'.

New Delhi: After 'Elizabeth' and 'The Golden Age', filmmaker Shekhar Kapur will direct 'Elizabeth III', which will be about an "unborn" British queen.

In his 1998 and 2007 films, Kapur explored the early years of Elizabeth's reign and chronicled the dynasty of Queen Elizabeth I of England. Britain's current queen is Elizabeth II, whose coronation took place in 1953.

"We are writing it right now. The queen is not born yet. The story would be when she is born and what the state of the world would be at that time," Kapur said.

Cate Blanchett played Elizabeth in Kapur's earlier films. "Now the whole world is talking about Cate Blanchett and I am happy that I am the first one to give her the break. She used to doubt herself a lot and never knew that she can carry off the role so well," he said.

The 'Mr India' director said his films influence him a lot as he gets involved into them. "Sometimes I make a good film, sometimes bad. When I make a good film, I go through a moral contradiction which is very strong in myself. If you have seen 'Bandit Queen' you can understand what I was going through. I became the protagonist and antagonist and tried to comprehend the situations she had gone through. I also understood rape is an act of humiliation," he said.

What's your reaction?
