Mumbai: Bollywood actress Tabu says she has become very particular about the filmmakers she works with.
Standard romantic movies no longer appeal to her, she told The Indian Express.
“I've become so spoilt now that a good role and a good director are no longer enough to make me act,” she said.
“I consider whether the banner (production house) and the producer are good enough and whether I'll be comfortable working with the team,” she added.
Tabu was last seen on the screen playing a writer's muse in Meenaxi - Tale of 3 Cities.
Her forthcoming movie is The Namesake, directed by Mira Nair, which is to hit screens next month.
It is based on a novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian-born American author Jhumpa Lahiri.
In the film, Tabu plays a woman appearing as a young bride, a mother and then a widow in her adopted country.
“I read Jhumpa's novel long before the project took off,” the newspaper quoted Tabu as saying.
“I just loved the character of Ashima whom I play. I thought it would make a great film,” she added.
Tabu also stars alongside Amitabh Bachchan in Cheeni Kum, which is to be released by the end of the year.
She plays a tourist visiting London who stops by an Indian restaurant. She complains about her meal, setting off a tiff with the master chef, played by Bachchan.
