Kolkata: A man who allegedly killed a national-level woman volleyball player, has surrendered in Kolkata.
Subrata Sinha alias Raja surrendered to the Jagaddal police station, DCDD of Barrackpore Police Commisionerate Ajay Thakur said.
Subrata was wanted by police for his alleged involvement in the killing of the 15-year-old volleyball player Sangita Aich at Natun Para locality in North 24 Parganas district.
Police suspect love affair to be the reason behind the murder.
The youth hit the girl with a sharp weapon several times at Natun Pukur locality and fled, Superintendent of Police Tanmay Roychowdhury said.
Aich was taken to the hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
