Mangalore: Sri Ram Sene activist who was detained by Mangalore police following the murder of author and scholar MM Kalburgi on Thursday claimed that his Facebook account was hacked.
The activist had allegedly written inflammatory material against MM Kalburgi. He has not been arrested but detained for questioning.
Kalburgi, a noted Kannada scholar, was shot dead in Dharwad on August 30 by two unidentified men. The police had on Wednesday released sketch of the suspected assassins.
The Karnataka government has decided to hand over the case to CBI, but CID will investigate the incident till it is taken over by the central agency.
Kalburgi, who was the former vice chancellor of Hampi Kannada University, had upset many by his liberal views on religion. He had received many threats before he was finally killed.
