Nazeer, Shafaz file appeal in High Court

KOCHI: Thadiyantavida Nazeer and his accomplice Shafaz, who have been awarded life imprisonment in the Kozhikode twin blast case, filed an appeal before the Kerala High Court  challenging the Ernakulam NIA Special court order.The NIA Special Court awarded triple life term to Nazeer, the prime accused in the case, and double life term to Shafaz, the fourth accused.The appellant alleged that the NIA court issued the verdict without any scientific evidence and it was illegal and unsustainable.Nazeer was awarded three life terms and Shafaz two life sentences under Section 18 and Section 16(i) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Section 4(b) of the Explosives Substances Act.
