Notification for civic polls likely next week

HYDERABAD: The state government is likely to submit the list of BC, SC and ST reservations in the local bodies to the State Election Commission by June 11 and the notification for the elections is likely to be issued during next week.Sources said that the elections for zilla parishads and mandal parishads will be conducted in July as the term of the existing bodies will end on July 23. This will be followed by elections to gram panchayats in August and municipalities in September. “The term of special officers appointed for the municipalities will end in September.  Hence, we have to complete all the elections by September,” said an official.
