An elderly man in Hyderabad died of serious head injuries after he was attacked by a two-wheeler rider on a busy street. The incident happened on September 30, when the elderly man was attempting to cross a road in the Alwar area and asked a biker to slow down as the latter brushed past him.
The deceased was identified as 65-year-old Anjaneyulu.
A CCTV video of the incident was widely shared on the social media, showing the moment when the biker attacked the elderly man.
A woman was pillion riding, while a child sat on the bike’s fuel tank at the time of the incident.
The video shows the woman with the biker attempting to pacify the man and stop him from attacking the elderly man. However, the latter fell to the ground.
Moments later, the biker headed towards his vehicle and drew away with the woman and child.
The deceased’s family said they spent lakhs of rupees on the man’s treatment but could not save him, news agency IANS reported.
Meanwhile, a complaint in this regard was lodged by the victim’s family and the accused was taken into custody by the police. He was later produced in a court, after which he was sent to judicial custody.
