BANGALORE: Infosys chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy took a dig at Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherji on Sunday for the latter’s alleged failure to deliver on his promises with regard to laying down a proper definition for ‘software exports’ in the country.Speaking at a function here, Murthy referred to Mukherji, and said the biggest problem in the country was “procrastination in making decisions and implementing them”.Murthy said, “In spite of the advances we have achieved in software industry, it is unfortunate that we don’t have a proper definition for software exports. I met him (Mukherji) last year and told him that it was affecting many companies. He was proactive to call a meeting with the concerned officials. But, I haven’t heard from him since then.”He added that it was an indicator of how slow we were in implementation process. “If a minister like Mukherji cannot do a simple thing, it reflects on how the entire process is,” he said, and added, “It is due to this inability to implement that our country is like this.”According to National Association of Software & Services Companies (NASSCOM), the expected export growth forecast for the next few months stands at 11-14 per cent.
