Telangana not Congress internal affair: BJP

HYDERABAD:Taking exception to Union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad holding talks with Congress leaders from different regions of the state as part of efforts to resolve the Telangana problem, BJP has asked whether the statehood issue is an internal matter of the ruling party.“How can Ghulam Nabi Azad hold talks with Congress leaders from different regions and say he is trying to resolve the Telangana issue? Is it an internal affair of the Congress? If the issue is to be discussed, Parliament is the appropriate forum,” BJP national secretary K Lakshman told reporters here on Friday.Addressing a press conference, Laxman alleged that the Congress party is once again deceiving Telangana people.Condoling the death of a youth in Delhi for the cause of Telangana, Lakshman said the BJP would like to instil confidence among people that it would deliver the separate state after it came to power.He said a BJP delegation from the state would visit Delhi on July 26 and would meet all the BJP and NDA leaders on the issue.BJP state general secretary Acharya and BJP state unit spokesperson NVSS Prabhakar were also present.
