BELLARY: The Tungabhadra Dam which is the major source of water for Bellary, Raichur and Koppal districts, besides some districts in Andhra Pradesh, is nearing its full capacity, following good rains in the catchment area.The water level has reached 1,632.50 ft, as against its full level of 1,633 ft. The 14.595 cusecs of water inflow is recorded and around 9,194 cusecs of water is being released into the river, sources said.The authorities have said the crest gates would be opened at any time and water would be released into the river, so people living on the banks of river, should move to safer places soon, they said.Reservoir levelsThe water level in Linganamakki reservoir was 1,797.80 metres and inflow and outflow into the reservoir were 34,885 cusecs and 1,383 cusecs respectively.The catchment areas of the reservoir received 68 mm rainfall.The Bhadra reservoir level stood at 176.5 metres. Inflow and outflow into the reservoir were 13,172 cusecs and 2,975 cusecs respectively. Bhadra catchment areas received 12.4 mm rainfall.The water level in Tunga reservoir was 586.72 metres, the release added.
