BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Special Inquiry squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested two interstate drug peddlers on Sunday and seized 1,055 grams of charas worth Rs 4 lakh from them.
The accused have been identified as Vikas Mangar alias Bikas (29) of West Bengal and Govind Gathraj (30) of Nepal. According to the police, the two were arrested when they were trying to sell charas to some clients in Chamarajapet. On a tipoff, the police swung into action and arrested them. During interrogation, the duo told police that they procured the drug from Himachal Pradesh and were selling it to medical and engineering students in Bangalore, the police said.Their associate Subhash is absconding and the police are on lookout for him. A case has been registered in Chamarajapet police station in this connection.
