BHUBANESWAR: Niladri Vihar area of the city was tense on Sunday after a few unidentified youths barged into the premises of a madrasa-cum-mosque and damaged furniture.Police rushed to the spot to ward off any deterioration in the situation but the miscreants had fled the spot by that time. A platoon of police is standing guard in the area.The incident occurred in the afternoon when about half a dozen youths reached the madrasa located at plot no. 309/619 in Sector 2 of Niladri Vihar. They got inside the premises, raised slogans and damaged some furniture before leaving the area. A police team, led by Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjit Singh, reached the spot and investigated the incident.Local sources said the madrasa-cum-mosque had run into controversy over its location in a disputed land. In fact, an Odiya medium school is also located on the same area. Police said situation was normal but vigil has been maintained. No one has been arrested.
