London: Kris Jenner, the matriarch of Kardashian-Jenner family is undoubtedly the biggest reason, for the entire family to acquire a celebrity status. The recently released explosive book ‘Kardashian Dynasty’, written by Ian Halperin, makes a few startling revelations about the family and makes disturbing allegations against Kris and her manipulative ways that catapulted the family as one-of-its-kind reality show celebrities.
Ian has painstakingly collected every single detail from his Hollywood contacts to trace the journey of the Kardashians. Kris Jenner, 60, who started out as a flight attendant with the American Airlines, led a life of just another unknown American wife of attorney Robert Kardashian, who came in news for representing OJ Simpson accused of killing his wife.
Robert (died of esphageal cancer in 2003) was the father of Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and son Robert. After her divorce with Robert in 1990, Kris married the celebrated Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner, with whom she has two more daughters Kylie and Kendell Jenner.
Ian writes: ‘the tawdry soap opera follows a hard-nosed and mercenary script’ and attacks Kris for working very closely with porn house Vivid Entertainment to secure release of Kim’s sex tapes in 2007. He alleges how eyeing the success and popularity of Paris Hilton, Kim and Kris realised that sex tapes were the way to go. Ian further writes: “Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand.” “It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day,” the writer alleges.
The smart moves made by Kris were actively supported by her ex-hubby Bruce (now Caitlyn) and daughters Kim, Kourtney, Kendell and Kylie helped in making the Brand Kardashian a household name. The book reveals how the family used every event in their life to their advantage. Kim Kardashian is believed to be worth £41 million and has the potential to break the internet by posing nude. Sisters Kendell and Khloe too have followed her footsteps and have taken turns in posing nude to remain in the limelight.
The writer went ballistic in presenting Kris as an ambitious woman with sharp acumen to present things that would retain the audience interest. She is blamed for ‘orchestrating two of her daughter Kim’s three marriage’ to increase the ratings of the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The book has shocked Kim’s fans as it mentions that when the rating of the reality series dipped, Kris planned to ‘introduce’ a new love angle in Kim’s life –a man preferably from American-African origin. That’s when the romance between Kim and American rapper Kanye West started to bloom and finally culminated in their fairytale wedding (which again was filmed and presented as a documentary).
After Bruce revealed his identity as Caitlyn last year, Kris had claimed of having little knowledge about his desire to be a woman. But, according to the book she had tried to ‘cure’ Bruce by way of the church.
It was the business acumen of Kris that made the channel heads of E! Online and executive producer Ryan Seacrest think seriously about a family based reality show titled Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007. The popularity of the series, which is in its 11 season, made each member a celebrity in their own rights.
Kris helped Bruce come up with an independent line of clothing, sports equipment and more. Kim heads a business empire that consists of a cloth line, beauty products and perfume which has a huge presence in America, China and the Middle-East. Kourtney and Khloe have jointly started women boutique chain by the name Dash, which is popular all across America.
There have been several spin-offs of KUWTK that projects the rise of the other Kardashian and Jenner sisters. Related shows based on similar format highlighting the vanity of these beautiful girls is equally popular among the loyal Kardashian fans.
The audience got fixated with other reality shows such as 'Kim’s fairy tale wedding: A Kardashian event', 'Kourtney and Kim Take New York', 'Kourtney and Kim take the Hamptons', 'Kourtney and Kim take Miami' and 'Kocktails with Khloe'- a pop culture theme talk show. This was followed by 'I Am Cait' based on the life of Caitlyn Jenner, who transformed into a woman after a surgery and revolves around the LGBT population.
