It's indeed a proud moment for all of us as in one of the many firsts, Rohit Khandelwal became the first Indian to win the coveted Mr World title. He emerged victorious amongst 47 participants representing different countries around the world.
The 26-year-old Rohit was born and brought up in Hyderabad.
He comes from a conservative family. His father always wanted him to join their family business. But he being a 'stubborn' kid, decided to follow his heart.
His fascination with computers landed him a job at Intel as a technical support assistant.
Later, he decided to shift to Bombay to pursue MBA and that's exactly when he cultivated a desire to become an actor.
The actor believes that there's some madness to acting. "You have to immerse your mind and soul into it," Rohit had said in the official introduction that he had given for the Mr World contest.
His biggest challenge before acting? To let go of junk foods!
Apart from keeping fit, he also loves to spend time with kids.
He may have left his hometown for his career but his heart still lies where his grandmother is!
