Pamela Anderson is back on the big screen with her latest performance in Gia Coppola’s, The Last Showgirl. The movie has been receiving positive response and amid this, the iconic actress recently attended the Zurich Film Festival, where she was honoured with the prestigious Golden Eye Award for her contributions. During her acceptance speech, Pamela said she feels blessed to work in the industry, but at the same time, she also acknowledged the challenges she has come across over the years. She admitted struggling with depression for nearly two decades, claiming that the time between Baywatch and Broadway was a “big blur.” Despite her past struggles, she felt happy to receive the award.

During the screening, she said as per Variety, “I look at it now and it feels like I went from Baywatch to Broadway. I don’t know what happened in between, it’s all a big blur. I am just happy to be here, at this moment, because I think I have had depression for a couple of decades. It’s great to be a part of pop culture, but it’s a blessing and a curse. People fall in love with you because of a bathing suit. It has taken a long time, but I am here. I just want to keep working. I am excited to do more.”

Pamela Anderson shared that her personal experiences helped her play her character in The Last Showgirl. She believes that her life journey made it possible for her to connect deeply with the role. She feels grateful for the work she is getting in the industry and wishes to turn her struggles into something meaningful.

During the discussion, the actress described her childhood as “mischievous.” She credited her Finnish grandfather for inspiring her to dream big. He also helped her understand that she was more than just her family or the small town where she grew up. Growing up in British Columbia, she added that people in her community stayed in the same place for years and when someone left, they would gossip. The actress humourously said that she gave them plenty of things to talk about. She recalled her first scene with David Hasselhoff, where she played the saxophone but felt awkward because he seemed distracted. Despite these awkward moments, Pamela claims that she has no regrets about her past.

On the work front, Pamela Anderson is currently gearing up for The Naked Gun with Liam Neeson and Rosebud Pruning’s Karim Aїnouz, also featuring, Elle Fanning, Callum Turner, Riley Keough and Jamie Bell.
