As per the latest media reports, three accused in the Renukaswamy murder case were granted bail by the court. The three were not released immediately from the jail and reportedly had to leave after ten days. So, why did the release take so much time and what does it mean for actor Darshan, who has been attempting bail for the past few months? According to the reports, the three accused, Keshavamurthy, Nikhil Nayak and Karthik, believed to be associates of actor Darshan in Renukaswamy murder, were granted bail on September 23. They were officially released from Tumakuru jail on October 2, ten days after the bail was approved.
If the reports are to be believed, if surety is not available for a bail, the release could be delayed. The family members of the accused, who were released after 10 days, reportedly struggled to find sureties for them. Due to the non-availability of a surety, the bail was officially carried out after nine days. After the completion of the bail surety process, the Tumakuru jail officers were sent a copy of the jail order, the night before. So, for the completion of the bail process, it is important to avail a surety on time.
The reports state further that if actor Darshan were to be granted bail in the future, he may not leave the prison immediately, if the process of surety took time. The newly-released were granted a conditional bail, as they were required to pay Rs 2 lakh each and provide surety from 2 people. On June 10, they had surrendered before the authorities, admitting they had killed Renukaswamy with the help of others.
According to more reports, accusations were made against them of taking Rs 5 lakh for making “false confessions” and were allegedly promised more money. The money exchange took place at the shed where Renukaswamy was later tortured and murdered, reports add. During police interrogation, the names of Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were revealed by them, along with other names.
