YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s fans were left shocked last year when it was reported that the Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner received an extortion case for Rs 1 crore. Months after, Elvish has now revealed shocking details about the incident.
Recently, Elvish Yadav graced Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast when he opened up about the extortion case. The YouTuber revealed that he was in London when he received a long WhatsApp message from a person asking for Rs 1 crore or else they would kill him.
“I have turned off calls from unknown people on WhatsApp. They cannot call me. I received a long message on WhatsApp in bold letters. I thought it might be some girl. But it said, ‘1 crore rupay chahiye nahi toh tujhe maar denge’. It was new for me. ‘Plan A se nahi mara toh tujhe plan B se maar denge’. I felt like he would definitely kill me,” Elvish said in Hindi.
The Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner further shared that he consulted with a few of his friends when one of them asked him to ignore it. “I called up my brother and told him about the message and the threat. He asked me to ignore it. I asked, ‘how can I ignore it?'” he added.
Elvish mentioned that the extortionist later gave him a ‘discount’. “He then said, ‘chalo tumhare liye discount’. He then came down to Rs 40-50 lakh. He then messaged me, ‘tu reply nahi kar raha hai, mujhe tere paise se gaadi khareedni hai’,” Elvish continued.
Soon after, Elvish returned to India where he filed a police complaint following which the man was caught in just six hours. “I filed a complaint late at night. It then made headlines. It spread like a fire. But we have very good police, they nabbed the man from Gujarat in just six hours. Policemen went there via flight and picked up that person. He was an RTO agent. He got my contact number from my car’s registration,” the YouTuber said.
