Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations took place in Jamnagar. While Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, among others, were seen at the bash, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were missing from the bash. Although the reason behind her absence is unclear, her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra attended the festivities. She stopped to speak with the media on her way out of Jamnagar when she spoke about Priyanka Chopra.
Madhu was asked if she misses Priyanka at the celebrations and while she agreed, she also said that Priyanka will make up for her absence at the bash. “She will make up for it, don’t worry,” Madhu told Instant Bollywood. Madhu also said that she had been wanting to come to Jamnagar for years now and this celebration gave her the perfect reason to visit.
“I have been wanting to come to Jamnagar, in fact I spoke to Anant, many years ago. It’s become true now. I am really looking forward to it,” she said.
Even though Priyanka missed the pre-wedding bash, she was present at other important Ambani family events. This includes the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, aka NMACC. She was joined by Nick at the event which took place last March.
While Priyanka was missed, the guests were treated to a stellar performance by Rihanna. The international singer flew down for a special performance at the pre-wedding bash and was joined by the Ambani family members on stage. Videos of her performing and bonding with the family and Bollywood stars have gone viral.
Although Priyanka couldn’t make it, several other Bollywood stars were spotted at the bash. These include Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur. Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are also attending the mega bash.
