HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALMAN KHAN: Popularly known as “Bhaijaan” among his fans and followers, actor Salman Khan has entertained audiences in Hindi cinema for over three decades. He began his acting journey in 1988 with a supporting role in the film Biwi Ho To Aisi and has since acted in over 100 films to date. Apart from starring in such beloved and superhit films as Maine Pyar Kiya, Khamoshi and Dabangg, Salman Khan has also launched many famous actresses in his long career. On his 58th birthday, we take a brief look at his journey in the entertainment industry.

Salman Khan Early Life and Debut

Salman Khan was born as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan to celebrated screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife, Sushila Charak. He began working in Bollywood as an assistant director for filmmaker Shashilal K. Nair’s film, Falak, in 1988. He debuted the same year in director J. K. Bihari’s Biwi Ho To Aisi, as a supporting actor.

It would take another year for Salman Khan to achieve breakthrough success as the character Prem in Sooraj Barjatya’s romantic drama, Maine Pyar Kiya. Since then there was no stopping for the actor.

Actresses Salman Khan has launched

Sneha Ullal

Sneha made her Bollywood debut with Lucky: No Time for Love. The film, directed by Radhika Rao, was released in 2005. Be it the storyline or songs, the film was loved by fans.

Sonakshi Sinha

Thappad se darr nahin lagta saahab pyaar se lagta hai – we don’t know if there is a better way to start this one. Sonakshi played the role of Rajjo, Salman’s love interest in Dabangg. And, the rest is history. Sonakshi continued to feature in some blockbuster films.

Saiee Manjrekar

Another star kid to make her debut with Salman Khan’s Dabanng franchise is Saiee. She was part of the third instalment of the film. Before showing up as a lead actress, Saiee worked as an assistant director for her father Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi film Astitva.

Bhoomika Chawla

Bhoomika Chawla’s Nirjara in Tere Naam made all the right noises in the early 2000s. In the film, Salman plays the role of a rowdy gangster Radhe who falls in love with Nirjara’s simplicity.

Pranutan Bahl

Salman Khan played a major role in the debut of his dear friend Mohnish Bahl’s daughter Pranutan. Pranutan was seen in Notebook.

Daisy Shah

10/10 if you can guess the name of the film with which she made her debut. It is an easy one. She starred opposite Salman in Jai Ho.

Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari

The two made their blockbuster debuts with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. While the storyline couldn’t impress fans much, Shehnaaz and Palak’s screen presence received much love.
