To all SRK fans, there is an interesting piece of news! Shah Rukh Khan – for the very first time – is collaborating with his daughter Suhana Khan for an action-packed thriller. According to a PinkVilla exclusive report, the father-daughter duo are all set to kickstart shooting in January 2024 and the film has been titled, King. It will be helmed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Entertainment.
“The film has been titled King and will be a one-of-a-kind action thriller with strong dynamics shared by Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. One would have expected SRK and Suhana to team up on a relatively soft film against the backdrop of father and daughter, but they are ready to break the norm by collaborating for the first time on an action thriller,” the entertainment news portal quoted a source as saying.
Speaking of the superstar and Siddharth Anand’s bond, the source added that they are ready to expand it after Pathaan. He and his team will also be involved in designing the action in the flick.
“Siddharth has proved himself to be the best in action at the moment and he will be overseeing all the action blocks in the King. In fact, he and his team will be actively involved in designing the action too,” the source said.
The report went on to add that Sujoy Ghosh is currently caught up with the pre-production and that the script has been finalised.
The source further noted that the action in King will be very different from what the ‘Baadshah’ of Bollywood has done in Pathaan and Jawan. “This one would be sleek with a lot of chase sequences. The core plot is however emotional. It has twists and turns, which is why Sujoy has been bestowed with the responsibility of direction,” the person added.
Work-wise, Shah Rukh Khan is awaiting the release of his much-anticipated film, Dunki, on December 22. Suhana will be seen in her debut flick, The Archies, which will be available on Netflix on 7 December.
