Song Kang Makes Rare Public Appearance In GOT7's Yugyeom Listening Party
Fans were surprised to see My Demon star Song Kang at the GOT7 member Yugyeom listening party.

Yugyeom, a member of the South Korean group GOT7, is all set to release his debut solo album, Trust Me. The excitement surrounding the album began on January 16, when Yugyeom teased fans with details during GOT7’s tenth-anniversary celebration. Prior to the official album announcement last month, the K-pop idol hosted an exclusive listening party, attended by prominent Korean artists such as members from NCT, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, and iKON. Notably, fans were pleasantly surprised by the presence of Song Kang, known for his reserved demeanour, at the event. Yugyeom later disclosed that SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu played a pivotal role in persuading Song Kang to join the festivities. During a heartfelt conversation with fellow band member Youngjae, Yugyeom shared the heartwarming story behind Song Kang’s unexpected attendance at the celebration.

During an appearance on Youngjae’s MBC FM4U radio show, GOT7 Youngjae’s Best Friend, Yugyeom clarified that Song Kang attended his listening party as a mutual friend. He mentioned that the actor is close with SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu. This revelation added a delightful twist, given Song Kang’s known reserved nature. Social media users even humorously speculated that Mingyu might have used various tactics to convince Song Kang to attend the party.

Yugyeom’s Trust Me listening party featured an impressive guest list. Apart from Song Kang and Mingyu, the gathering was also attended by Song Ha Yoon, Jung Gun Joo and Yugyeom’s fellow GOT7 member BamBam, NCT’s Jaehyun and Johnny, ATEEZ’s Mingi, DK, Vernon, The8 and Woozi. iKON’s DK, BTOB’s Peniel, PENTAGON’s Kino and Hui, along with Simon Dominic, GRAY, Loco, DeVita, CODE KUNST, Street Man Fighter’s Kwon Young Deuk and Kwon Young Don, Lee Tae Hoon, Chae Jong Seok, Orbit, Hoody, Coogie, Woo Won Jae, Kirin, DJ Wegun, and DJ Pumkin, added fun to the event.

However, fans were surprised by Blackpink member Jennie’s absence from Yugyeom’s listening party despite their close friendship. Many speculated that the singer might not have attended as she was in the US to celebrate The Weeknd’s birthday in Los Angeles.

After GOT7’s contract ended with JYP Entertainment, Yugyeom decided to follow his solo career under the label AOMG. Since then, the singer has released one extended album, titled Point of View: U, which debuted in July 2021. Additionally, he has dropped two single albums, Take You Down in March 2022 and Lolo in July 2023.
