A dance party was organised by the gurdwara administration at Kartarpur Sahib complex in Shakargarh, Narowal District of Punjab province in Pakistan, claimed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
The BJP leader said alcohol and meat were also consumed during the party at the gurdwara complex and urged the Pakistan government to take strict action against the accused.
“The PMU Kartarpur Corridor committee in Narowal including the local Deputy Commissioner and DSP of Kartarpur Gurdwara administration organised a dance party, consumed alcohol and meat…Strict action should be taken against them. I condemn this act strongly and appeal to the Pakistan Govt to register a case against them and put them behind bars,” Sirsa told news agency ANI.
Sirsa also posted the purported video of the said incident on X (formally Twitter), and said that Sikh community worldwide feels betrayed by the “disrespect to the sacred site” where Guru Nanak Dev ji took his last breath.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) spokesperson Gurcharan Singh Grewal also echoed Sirsa’s demand and said, “the entire Sikh community condemns this shameful incident. Pakistan government should take action in this matter. I request the Jathedar of Akal Takht Kartarpur Sahib to clear their stand on this.”
Reacting to news, Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib Giani, Harpreet Singh called the incident unfortunate.
“Pakistan government should know that Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara is a place of worship for us. They should take action against those responsible,” he said.
