'Go Win, We'll Meet Again Soon': Modi's Message to Council of Ministers Before Lok Sabha Polls
Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, PM Narendra Modi advised his colleagues to be careful about who they meet so as to ensure that the wrong message does not go out

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired the last meeting of the council of ministers, where he told his colleagues to go and win the Lok Sabha elections. He also said they will “meet again very soon”, reflecting his confidence that the government under him will return to power.

According to government sources, the council brainstormed on a vision document for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ and a detailed action plan for the next five years. It also worked on a 100-day agenda for quick implementation when the new government is formed in May, they said.

In the day-long deliberation, the prime minister advised his colleagues to be careful about who they meet so as to ensure that the wrong message does not go out. “During the elections, one has to be careful about who we meet and to check what message we convey,” he said at the meeting.

He added: “Go and win the upcoming polls and we will meet again very soon.”

CNN-News18 had earlier reported about the council meeting to discuss the 100-day agenda for the new government. On a number of occasions, Prime Minister Modi has stressed that the government under him will return to power with absolute majority. While the opposition is struggling to put up a united front, the BJP has not only announced 195 candidates but already started work on its post-poll plan.

Sources further said Prime Minister Modi once again told his colleagues that controversies and out-of-turn statements should be avoided. “Stay away from making controversial remarks. Do not speak out of turn. Do not become an expert at everything,” he said at the meeting.

The PM also advised his cabinet colleagues, especially the younger ones, to be careful about the misuse of artificial intelligence and deep-fake videos, sources said. “None of you is an expert on any issues, and we don’t need to comment on every issue that the media rakes up. Do not fall into the opposition trap and make out-of-turn remarks. If you need to speak, then speak on government schemes and the work done by us in the last decade,” he said.

Five presentations were made during the meeting, including by railways and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw; housing and petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri; earth and sciences minister Kiren Rijiju; commerce minister Piyush Goyal and law minister Arjun Meghwal.
