Anna does a U-turn, says I support Mamata Banerjee, not TMC
Anna Hazare has admitted that he didn't go to Mamata Banerjee's rally in Ramlila Maidan in Delhi due to fewer crowds.

New Delhi: Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare has admitted that he didn't go to West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's rally in Ramlila Maidan in Delhi due to fewer crowds. He alleged that there was a conspiracy to sabotage it.

However, he maintained that he supports Mamata Banerjee, but won't campaign for any political party in the coming elections. Addressing the media in New Delhi, he said, "I will fast for a day in Punjab on March 30 with youngsters from the state demanding only clean candidates are sent to Parliament. I supported Mamata only because I wanted a stable government. Because a hotchpotch government will harm the country. I supported Mamata as an individual, but never supported the TMC as a party."

Hazare said that Mamata was cheated and she was told that it was Anna Hazare's rally and Hazare was told that it was Mamata's rally and there were just 2,000 people. He said, "Ramlila was full last time, something went wrong this time. Santosh Bharti cheated me. I wasn't given full information."

In February, when Hazare had joined hands with Mamata, he had said that will campaign for all Trinamool Congress candidates ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. However, now he says his support is only for Mamata and not TMC.
