Tytler accused the ruling BJD of ruining the state and misusing central funds.

Bhubaneswar: Stepping up attack on Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Congress leader Jagdish Tytler on Friday dared the BJD supremo to reply six new questions saying he would quit politics if Patnaik proved wrong the charges of corruption and inefficiency.

"I wonder why Naveen Patnaik has not replied to 14 questions I posed earlier. He must realise that one day his government will have to reply to the people of Orissa," Tytler told reporters.

Accusing the ruling BJD of ruining the state and misusing central funds, the former union minister lobbed six fresh questions and said, "If the chief minister answers all my queries and proves wrong allegations levelled against his government, I will quit politics."

Alleging that there are 1,797 cases of fund misappropriation, defalcation of government money in the state, Tytler said, "If Patnaik feels I am wrong let him prove I am a liar."

Turning to the land issue, the Congress leader said "is it not true that the state government is incapable of handling land issue in the matter of lease and encroachment as they do not have any data base of land record."

Accusing the BJD government of showing undue favour to big industries and corporate houses, Tytler asked, "Is it not true that government land measuring 106.438 acre is occupied by industrial houses in unauthorised manner."

He said the Centre had announced National Afforestation and Eco-development programme to promote afforestation, tree planting, ecological restoration and eco-development activities in the state with a fund of Rs 100.30 crore but Rs 83.03 crore is left unspent till today.

"Is it not the inefficiency and irregularities of Naveen Patnaik government," the Congress leader said asking BJD regime in Orissa to fully utilise central funds flowing into the state for various welfare schemes and programmes.

Tytler further lashed out at the BJD government accusing it of supplying 'Khesari dal' instead of 'Arhar dal' to the poor people including pregnant women and undernourished children under mid-day meal and special nutrition programme.

"Why the government is playing such a heinous game with pregnant women and under-nourished children by feeding them Khesari dal which causes Letheriasis (paralysis of lower limbs)," he asked.
