Apple has a clear set of guidelines for charging its devices and the new USB-C totting iPhone 15 series is no different. Recently, one user suffered major issues with their iPhone 15 Pro Max while charging it overnight. The next day, the person noticed the charging point was stuck in the USB C port. The user didn’t have AppleCare+ surety which means the damage caused is going to cost him a fortune. The person shared his ordeal on Reddit, where he narrated the issue and what exactly might have caused this problem.
He says the iPhone 15 Pro Max was left for charging overnight, and when he decided to disconnect the cable, he couldn’t do it because the phone got really hot. In fact, he even burnt his fingers when he tried to remove the cable and noticed the point of the cable was not stuck in the USB C port as the cable had melted in the heat.
While the victim doesn’t share the details of the charger and cable he used to charge the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it is likely that he might have used low-quality, third-party chargers with cable that Apple strictly asks its users to avoid for charging.
We all know that the new iPhone 15 series comes with USB C charging which means people can use their existing charger and cable that they use with the Android phones. But the whole USB-C lineup can be confusing and people might not be clear as to which cable is safe to use with the new iPhone models.
Apple repeatedly warns about using certified or at least cables from reputed brands. But that’s not the only safe measure to follow, here some of the others we advise people:
