New Delhi: Microsoft has not made official its plans for the second-generation version of its Microsoft Band, but a Spanish tech website has published images of the purported wearable-in-the-making.
Published by Microsoft Insider, the images show the speculated Microsoft Band 2 with a new design and enhanced look.
Released late last year, the first iteration of the Microsoft Band failed to create a buzz in the wearables segment. With the Microsoft Band 2, the software giant aims to target consumers with improved functionality and design.
Images of the second-gen Microsoft Band 2, codenamed ‘Envoy’, show off the device with a curved shape and the front panel in metallic finish with physical buttons on the side. This would make it more ergonomic than its predecessor which did not have a curved screen to fit the wearer's wrist well.
The smart band is further said to include new sensors that measure height, indicating an in-built altimeter.
The wearable is expected to be unveiled at Microsoft’s event on October 6 when the software giant is also expected to launch its new Windows 10-powered devices.
