New Delhi: Apple’s first consumer product after five years carries the genes from its first-ever mobile device unveiled about eight years ago. Surprised? The Apple Watch is nothing but a small size version of the original iPhone.
The 2007-original iPhone was 0.46-inch thick and had a small screen. It might look like an antique piece of technology if compared to its successors. But, the Apple Watch, despite being the newest product by the tech giant is also the one that takes most of the age-old design features.
A Cult of Mac report notes that the Apple Watch measures slightly thinner at 0.45-inch, but its rounded edges, colour, and overall aesthetic is reminiscent of the first-gen Apple iPhone.
The smartwatch that starts from a still not-so-humble price tag of $349 and goes to a mind-boggling $17,000 for a gold edition has been designed by Jony Ive.
While over the years the iPhones have become thinner and lighter, it will be but a curious perusal of what the next Apple Watch looks like.
