Here’s how people reacted to this brain teaser:

“Isn’t it literally just 49-36 where’s all the algebra coming from?? 13 large dogs and 36 small dogs,” wrote an individual.

Another added, “Assume there are large, medium and small dogs entered into the competition. 36 more small dogs compared to large ones. The word MORE is important here. The maximum number of small dogs is 42, 6 large dogs and 1 medium. 42-6 =36. All the way down to 36 small, 1 large and 12 medium.”

“This can be super simple! Take the 36 extra dogs out of the equation and divide by two to get each dog’s base number before adding “36 more”. 49-36=13. 13/2=6.5. There are 6.5 large dogs. Now add back the 36 small dogs) 6.5+36 = 42.5. 42.5 small + 6.5 large = 49,” claimed a third.

A fourth commented, “If there are 49 dogs, and 36 are small, and there are 36 more small dogs than large dogs- is it not just 36?”

What's your reaction?
