‘Terrifying’: Wheelchair-Bound Blogger Slams Airlines After Being Carried Out Of Plane In Broken Seat
Tori explained that she had already informed the airlines about her disability several months in advance, but they still failed to manage the situation properly.

All around the world, authorities have laid down special provisions for passengers on flights with disabilities. The air and ground staff are generally required to follow proper regulations to ease the movement of such individuals. However, this was not the case with Canadian blogger Tori Hunter, who regularly posts about her travels as a wheelchair user on social media. The blogger has revealed her terrifying ordeal while she was being carried out of the plane in a broken aisle chair. She has severely criticised the airlines for their lack of facilities and their inability to provide provisions for people with disabilities.

Tori Hunter shared about her horrific experience of travelling on an Air Canada flight to Costa Rica. The blogger has shared a video of the incident on her Instagram. In the clip, it can be seen that she is being carried off the flight with the help of staff. Tori seemed visibly distressed as she was carried off on a broken aisle chair. It can be seen that the chair was angled sideways during the steep descent, while her father is seen helping her out by keeping her upright.

She has explained her ordeal and wrote, “This is me, being carried down a flight of stairs in a broken aisle chair—no armrests, straps that wouldn’t tighten enough to keep my body in, and front wheels that were busted off. You can see from my face how distraught and absolutely terrified I was. The individuals that were sent to help me disembark this plane likely had very little training on how to do so; they kept having to place the chair down from not having the correct grip, and they were holding the chair completely sideways.”

She also revealed that she has been a frequent traveller and has never faced such a situation in her life. She added that most airports have jet bridges, which help with movement. In an interview with the BBC, Tori explained that she had already informed the airlines about her disability several months in advance, but they still failed to manage the situation properly.
