The 15th edition of WWE Money in the Bank premium live event is set to unfold this weekend in Ontario Canada. The show will host some top-tier wrestling action on July 6 at the Scotiabank Arena. The men’s ladder match will feature top stars including Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre whereas wrestlers including Naomi and IYO SKY will compete in the women’s clash. Apart from the two briefcase matches, the night will also see two title matches for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the Intercontinental Championship. Finally, the fans will also witness WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes team up with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to take on The Bloodline.
With just a few hours separating us from the blockbuster premium live event, let’s take a look at the WWE Money in the Bank 2024 match card –
Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match – Jey Uso vs Carmelo Hayes vs Andrade vs Chad Gable vs LA Knight vs Drew McIntyre
The men’s briefcase ladder match will feature only one experienced player, Andrade, who competed in the 2019 edition of the event. Other stars including Chad Gable, LA Knight, Carmelo Hayes, Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso will be competing in their first-ever briefcase ladder match. McIntyre is one of the favourites to win this match-up as he looks to redeem himself after losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Damian Priest who cashed in his briefcase at WrestleMania 40.
Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match – Iyo Sky vs Chelsea Green vs Lyra Valkyria vs Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi vs Zoey Stark
So far all of the women’s briefcase match holders have successfully cashed in their contracts into gold. IYO SKY won the event last year, changing her career’s course completely. She then cashed in to win the Women’s Championship which she held for 245 days. On the other hand, stars including Chelsea Green and Lyra Valkyria will be heading into their first-ever briefcase ladder match.
WWE Intercontinental Championship – Sami Zayn (c) vs Bron Breaakker
Bron Breakker is one of the wrestlers that have jumped ranks in the WWE in recent years. Fast-tracked to superstardom, Breaker’s journey to the top may very well involve a monumental victory over Sami Zayn at MITB. Zayn has been an incredible Intercontinental Champion thus far. It remains to be seen if he can retain the title once again in front of a home crowd in Toronto.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Damian Priest (c) vs Seth Rollins
Damian Priest and Seth ‘Freaking’ Rollins will be looking for one last dance at the upcoming Money in the Bank premium live event. MITB will mark Damian Priest’s 90th day as the World Heavyweight Champion. Before him, Rollins held the championship for 316 days. Stakes will be high for the upcoming clash as Rollins will never be able to challenge Priest again if he loses the match. Whereas, Priest’s loss will result in him leaving Judgment Day.
Six-man tag-team match – Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Kevins Owens vs The Bloodline
It did not take The Bloodline long to circle back to the WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes. In Roman Reigns’ absence, the Solo Sikoa-led side will be looking to put away the champion at Money in the Bank. They recently recruited a new enforcer Jacob Fatu. Rhodes also boasts some solid back-up for the epic clash. The champion will be joined by the Apex Predator Randy Orton and Kevin ‘KO’ Owens. The results of this match will likely have a massive impact on the status quo of the roster.
