Just a day ahead of the WWE’s premium live event Money in the Bank (MITB), the company’s weekly live event SmackDown moved to Canada. The event took place at the Scotiabank Arena, the same venue that will host the upcoming premium event. The new episode from WWE’s blue brand featured the latest build-up for MITB. The show began with a brief promo between all six contenders participating in the men’s briefcase match. It was followed by tag-team action as Pretty Deadly squared off against the Street Profits. Finally, DIY overcame A-Town Down Under to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
Men’s ladder match contenders face off ahead of Money in the Bank
This in-ring segment began with Jey Uso asking the crowd if they wanted to see the ex-Bloodline member become ‘Mr Yeet in the Bank.’ LA Knight interrupted the promo and addressed that Jey might be the favourite but that would earn him no respect in the upcoming clash. Next Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable and Andrade also made their way to the ring. Lastly, Drew McIntyre emerged to remind everyone he would do the same damage he did to CM Punk last month.
Fans hear from Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton
The promo started with Cody Rhodes telling the fans that this new-formed Bloodline would get the fight they were looking for. Orton spoke up and said it was up to him to ensure the match ended with the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment, RKO. Owens received a home welcome from the crowd. KO then revealed how his mom was rushed to the hospital recently. Owens then highlighted he was going to fight like hell at the upcoming premium live event.
DIY crowned as the new WWE Tag Team Champions
Waller and Ciampa kicked off the action on SmackDown. After exchanging a few blows, Waller tripped Ciampa off the apron. Theory tagged in and landed a driver for a near fall. Ciampa then hit Project Ciampa on Waller but Theory put his teammate’s foot on the rope. Theory then dived into the ring and stopped Waller’s hand from hitting the mat to tap out. Ciampa then managed to lock in the Sicilian Stretch, forcing Waller to tap out and become the WWE Tag Team Champions.

Pretty Deadly vs Street Profits – Street Profits landed a Frog Splash on Kit Wilson to seal a pinfall victory.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill vs Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell – Cargill hit LeRae with the Jaded for a pinfall win.
Bayley vs Piper Niven – Bayley won the match by pinfall using the Roseplant.
DIY vs A-Town Down Under for the WWE Tag-Team Championship – DIY won the match off the Gargano Escape on Grayson Waller to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
