Tata Motors has unveiled the 'Geneva Edition' of their upcoming syb-4 metre sedan offering Tigor at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. The unveil was done alongside the Nexon, which is expected to launch later this year, and TaMo's first sports coupe – Racemo.
The Tigor will be launching in India on March 29, confirming our earlier report of the car's launch date.
The Tigor bears resemblance to the company's popular hatchback Tiago and has a coupe-like appearance which Tata likes to call a Styleback. It is expected to be powered the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine and will also be available in a diesel-powered variant which could use the 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel that also powers the Tiago hatchback. Transmission duties could be handled by a 5-speed manual transmission with an AMT offering to follow later in the year.
First showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo as the Kite 5, it will be the third sub-compact sedan by Tata in India after the Ingo eCS and the Zest. Upon launch, the Tigor will be competing against the likes of the Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire.
