Islamabad: Three people were killed and 13 others, all of them policemen, were injured on Thursday in a suspected suicide attack in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP). This is the second suicide attack in the city in as many days.
Two motorcycle borne terrorists first hurled a hand grenade at the Ring Road in Peshawar and when policemen reached the area, a suicide bomber blew himself up, killing three people and injuring 13 policemen, Geo TV reported, quoting sources.
Two police mobile vans were also destroyed in the attack.
TV images showed the injured being evacuated to hospitals.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has condemned the attack.
The latest attack comes after a huge explosion ripped through the five-star Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar, killing at least 16 people, including a UN official.
The attacks are the latest in the series of bombings that suspected Taliban militants have carried out to avenge the ongoing military offensive in NWFP's Swat valley and three neighbouring districts.
The military launched its operation in April after the rebels failed to observe the terms of a peace deal.
