Counselling for students to begin next week

KOCHI: The state government on Thursday submitted before the High Court that the counselling of school students, living near the Mullaperiyar dam, who are under fear would be started before December 20.“Trained counsellors will provide psycho-social support to the students. This will also be followed by an evacuation mock drill for schools,” the state government submitted.The government further submitted that Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials would be distributed. The state will also consider the possibility of installation of long range sirens with a range of 10 km. The state further submitted that IEC materials would be distributed.
