Randhawa finished the first round at 4 under par 68.
New Delhi: It's not always that an Indian almost matches Tiger Woods shot-for-shot. However, Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa has done just that at the World Golf Championships in Shanghai.
Randhawa finished the first round at 4 under par 68, one shot behind Tiger Woods who shot 67.
That puts Randhawa at tied eighth.
However, it was American Nick Watney who was the runaway leader after tying the course record with an 8 under 64. That gives him a 2 shot lead over three players who are tied for second place.
The other three Indians in the fray - Gaganjeet Bhullar, Jeev Milkha Singh and C Muniyappa - are way off the pace after posting over par rounds.
