New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday took a dig at the NDA government saying that even though part of the BJP manifesto, cleaning the Ganga initiative has now been put on the back burner of the government's agenda.
The Supreme Court criticised the government by pointing out that it has shown urgency in matters that were irrelevant and, indifference for a matter like cleaning the Ganga which needed the government's prompt action and involvement.
The Supreme Court launched a scathing attack on the government saying that it has shown no urgency to protect the river Ganga.
The government is seeking more time to execute cleaning the Ganga campaign.
The SC has asked the Centre to submit a road map within two weeks.
